Heat / Air / Moisture Modeling (HAM)

Tom Harris PUR Consulting, LLC

The performance path to code compliance is often used to verify unique approaches to providing a higher-performing enclosure, but are you sure they work?  Modeling programs are available on-line, but it’s the interpretation of the results set against the ability of the specific assembly to perform in various geographies at the climactic extremes that matter.

The diagram to the left is a typical condensation potential output and indicates the amount of moisture, the location of the moisture and the ASHRAE Climate Conditions used to make the drawing.  The assembly components can be changed to reflect your design and the climate conditions can be modified to analyze specific conditions you may want to investigate.  The program also produces separate drawings summarizing the thermal control layers (R-value) and air control layers (air barrier) for the specific assembly.

To get started, please complete the form below, add the analysis to your cart and process your payment.  I will contact you directly to discuss the details of the project and complete the analysis.  The HAM Report will include a condensation analysis of your specific assemblies on the project, a conclusion regarding code compliance and a discussion of the issues and concerns of the design and products of choice.

The analysis and report will be completed and returned to you within 48 hrs.
